Superhero scholars set to soar at GOTS Sports Carnival

Get set for Global Oak Tree Scholars’ (GOTS) second Sports Carnival on July 27, 2019.

Expect it to be a ‘super’ fun day as scholars representing four sports houses will each make their own superhero mascot.

Female scholars from GOTS Primary have also formed a cheerleading team to keep their friends, families and guests entertained.

GOTS coach Kirijaa Ratanarajah, who is spearheading the Sports Carnival this year, couldn’t hide the smile when sharing what’s in store.

“I won’t reveal too much about the activities and games – it’s a big secret – but I can tell you we are including Frisbee and tug-of-war,” she said.

“A few games will be similar to what we had last year but there are additions to entertain everyone.

“Our scholars are extremely excited about making their own superhero mascot. I’m sure parents will be surprised too.”

Kirijaa was speaking after a rehearsal at GOTS’ City of Elmina Campus in Shah Alam.

Through the noise and excitement, the scholars were busy creating their own cheers and dances. Kirijaa and GOTS’ Boot Camp coach Timothy Naden Henry, meanwhile, worked on the final preparations for the carnival.

GOTS co-founder Veronica Shepherdson said: “It is going to be hectic this year as we have more children but will also be fun.

“It may look disorganised now but once the scholars have perfected their cheers and teamwork, it will be a colourful and wonderful day for everyone.”
